In 2009, Eric Lowen's ALS had finally gotten to the point where it was no longer safe for him to travel, so he officially retired from performing. This was the final show, at the Birchmere in Virginia. Eric's wife, Kim Ferguson, had three children of her own in addition to Eric's two. They all had practiced several songs to sing as part of the evening, and there was not a dry eye in the house after their tribute to their dad.
