One of the celebrity guests at Sweetwater Sound's "Gearfest" this year was legendary recording engineer/producer Bruce Swedien. Bruce was the engineer who recorded Michael Jackson's studio albums under Quincy Jones' production from 1978 until 2001, including "Thriller". Swedien has five Grammys.

He was there to give a couple of seminars, but also was signing copies of his three books. He and I have a couple of friends in common, so I introduced myself and, after he signed my book, I asked if I could take a photo of he and his wife of 61 years, Bea. He said "sure," and then turned to Bea and gave her a kiss. I like this much better than a straight-on portrait, I think.
