James was a radioman on board a B-17 bomber. He was there with his son, overlooking the B-17 hanging in the museum and telling him about the different parts of the plane, and how his plane differed from this one. This year the Ides were also asked to sing "We Wish," a song about peace and understanding. Msgr. Mayall wrote his homily to mesh with the words of the song. I'm not Catholic although my wife is.
