Autumn poplar / willow and Boer goats

Leaves of black poplar.

There are / were several magnificent old female black poplars in Christchurch. Thinking that they might be removed after the earthquakes I took some cutting material and planted it here. Two years later, they have reached 6 feet in height.!

European hawthorn, (Crataegus monogyna?).

A colorful horticultural maple, young garden plant, before the weather went pear-shaped. New lens for me.
