Dean and Bob, Father and Son

Dean McLaughlin and his father, Bob. Bob ran the large Dr. Who convention, Visions, for 9 years over Thanksgiving weekend before finally retiring in 1998. Visions was the successor to "Spirit Of Light" conventions, and the predecessor to the "Chicago TARDIS" conventions that carry on today. A lot of the CT staff is carried over from Visions. Dean was a normal child until he was struck by a car. The injuries he sustained crippled him both physically and mentally. I've known Dean since the first "Visions" convention in 1990.
