Shaw's Sorghum Mill

This abandoned building was a thriving sorghum mill until Wilbur Shaw closed it in 1970. Mr. Shaw continued traditional farming until the early 1980's, at which point he decided to try a different cash crop. When the DEA raided his farm, they found 3000 pounds of marijuana. I was in college at the time up here in Valparaiso, Indiana (about 45min outside of Chicago) and suddenly my little town was even on the Chicago primetime news.... Olympus E-M5, Panasonic 20/1.7
