Dinner Will Be Late
When I was growing up in Southern Illinois, the Kincaid Kountry Kitchen was one of the most popular places to eat.
My parents would rent out the upstairs banquet room for the Christmas party for our restaurant, until it got too expensive and we started holding them at our house.
I'm not sure when the KKK closed, but today it sits abandoned, decaying, and surrounded by weeds and trash.
Were the owners ever aware of the unfortunate double-meaning of the initials of their chosen name? Can't be sure. But given the general feelings towards "outsiders" in a lot of small, rural communities in that region, it would not surprise me.
