Such A Cute Couple

This photo probably needs a little 'splaining. Dan Navarro and his partner Eric Lowen, played 6 shows for me over the first 7 years of my concert series, before Eric had to retire from performing to concentrate on family and battling ALS (Lou Gherig's Disease). Our concerts are held at a community theatre, a building full of props and costumes and goofy stuff. Every Lowen & Navarro show ended up with something on stage that wasn't part of a normal concert. This time, at intermission, Dan found the blue dress and feather boa on the costume rack, and decided to surprise Eric when they came back out. Keep in mind that Dan is a fairly hairy guy of Mexican descent and completely straight.... The crowd's reaction, not to mention the look on Eric's face when Dan walked back on stage, was something that none of us will ever forget.
