Derek St. Holmes

Derek St. Holmes is the rhythm guitar player and vocalist with Ted Nugent's band. He's the voice behind most of Ted's biggest hits, and he's also the guy who did most of the writing as well. He's also one of the classiest, friendliest people I've ever met. He's the polar opposite of the guy he tours with. When I talke to his agent half a year ago about the outside possibility of him playing a solo acoustic show for me, I was just doing it as a lark. And then she called me back and said, "He'd love to!" Neither of us were sure how well hard rock classics would translate acoustically, but Derek absolutely nailed them. Most Nugent fans don't really realize just how spectacular of a guitarist Derek is, or just how important his contributions were to all of the songs they love. He ended up having a blast - he told me he had more fun than anyone else in the room, and absolutely wanted to do it again. And I came away with a new friend. Olympus E-M5, OM 100/2.8
