Robie Gates
These are reproductions of the 900lb main gates for the Robie House in Chicago's Hyde Park neighborhood. The original gates disappeared in the 1920's with no clear history of why or where they ended up.
A generous donor several years back paid to have them reproduced. The metalwork echoes the designs in the caming of the stained-glass windows, and also echoes angles found within the house. The main diamond, for example, matches the pitch of the roof.
