Billy Hardwick's
Billy Hardwick was a professional bowler, and was one of the most successful PBA members of the 60's and 70's with 18 championships during his career, a significant accomplishment in any sport. When he retired from the tour, he opened a bowling alley in his hometown of Memphis.
I don't follow professional bowling, so I wasn't really aware of his history. However, he's also the father of Chris Hardwick, internet/television star (at least here in America). I'm a fan of Chris's work, and listen to his Nerdist podcast. Chris talked about his dad often, and devoted one entire podcast to a conversation with his dad. He sounded like an interesting man.
I had planned on looking the alley up on my next trip to Memphis, and possibly meeting Billy and getting a photo of him in his "office". But on the day I was flying down, his son tweeted that his father had just passed away that morning.
So, instead, I looked up the alley, took a couple of shots of the exterior, and paid my respects to the man's memory.
The sun was in a bad place that day, and the lighting was very harsh, but I was on my way to the airport so I took what I could. I'll probably convert this to B&W and see if I can make it better.
