Tokyo – Canon, Inc is reported to have plans to build a factory in Kawasaki costing approximately 55 billion yen in order to double its production capacity of CMOS image sensors in order to address increasing demands for its DSLR cameras, citing company sources.

Tokyo – Canon, Inc. announced that it intends to sell 950,000 DSLR cameras by the end of 2007 and in the process snare 43% of the Japanese Domestic Market (JDM).
