Overwhelmed

by

Karen L Norton

One Woman's Journey with Breast Cancer

"You have cancer." No one wants to hear those three words. Especially not twice. To say Karen Norton was 'Overwhelmed' when she first heard she had breast cancer is an understatement. As a wife, a mom to two young girls, and a part-time music pastor supporting her family, she already had enough on her plate. But then came those three ominous words.

'Overwhelmed' is a journey of one woman's life of health issues that seemed would never end. Would her world ever be the same again? Would she survive? Could she ever be the person God wanted her to be in this life? Would she continue to struggle with health issues and the emotions related to the changes? Would she understand why God tested her with health issues?

Great Smoky Mountain National Park - Clingman's Dome
Written by Ken Norton
Jul 04, 2010 at 11:26 PM

No visit to Great Smoky National Park is complete without the side trip to the top of Clingman's Dome. At the top of this mountain, a short hike from the parking lot, is an unique observation tower with a long spiraling elevated ramp. On a clear day, you can see something seven states from the tower, but the mountain top is more often than not in the clouds. Even when it's fogged in, the scene is anything but boring. All photographs taken with the OM-2S, Fujichrome 50 and the Zuiko 24mm F2.8 or 28 F3.5 lenses.

Spaulding Factory - Panasonic L1 with Zuiko 50 F1.4
Written by Ken Norton

A criticism was made that the pictures I'm showing that were taken with the Zuiko 50mm F1.4 lens are all exploiting the narrow DoF characteristics but not showing the lens in other applications. On Saturday I had a few minutes so I went down to the old Spaulding Factory and did some experimenting with the L1, 50mm lens and B&W color filters. Here are four pictures from that outing.
